Installation Instructions

Alignment of all StealthMirrors is designed to be "set and forget". Mirror Adjustment after bolts are tightened can result in breakages not covered by warranty

minus.png
  1. Remove stock mirrors.

  2. Use the included M10 bolts (metric) to loosely fasten the SM1 mirrors to the stock locations.

  3. Rotate the SM1 mirrors horizontally to optimize your view and tighten the M10 bolt (Do not overtighten). How tight is too tight? Click this if you are unsure

  4. To adjust the SM1 vertical alignment, first loosen the small M5 bolt on the side of the mirror stalk. Tilt the bottom part of the mirror to optimize your view. Once set, re-tighten the M5 bolt, again, taking care to not overtighten the bolt. DO NOT TRY ADJUST THIS WITHOUT FIRST LOOSENING THE M5 BOLT.

  5. The mirror part can also be placed in 3 positions, (ships in the middle position). To change the position, remove the flanged M5 bolt holding it in place to remove the mirror.

  6. Reinstall in your desired position. Use a TINY drop of Loctite 243 (blue) on the bolt, wiping most of it off before tightening it down. Do not over-tighten the bolt.

  1. Loosen the bottom bolt that fixes the stalk to the clamp. (The bolt is accessed from the bottom and is located inside the stalk.

  2. Separate the claw clamp halves enough to slip onto your handlebars.

  3. Loosely tighten the bolt, so that you can still rotate the clamp on the bars and rotate the stalk.

  4. Adjust the mirror vertically and horizontally to suit your desired view.

  5. Re-tighten the bottom bolt only tight enough to prevent the clamp from rotating on the handlebars. DO NOT TORQUE DOWN HEAVILY - THIS WILL BREAK THE TOP CLAMP AND IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY

  6. The mirror part can also be placed in 2 positions, (ships in the top position). To change the position, remove the 2 x M5 bolts holding it in place to remove the mirror.

  1. Remove the stock mirrors

  2. Use the provided M10 bolts to loosely tighten the SM5 mirrors to the stock mounting locations - Verify if your stock locations are normal- or reverse-threaded and be sure to use the correct direction threaded M10 bolt. (Damage will occur if you use the reverse-theaded bolt in an normal-threaded hole or vice-versa). How tight is too tight? Click this if you are unsure

  3. Adjust the up/down angle of the mirror to your desired angle and then tighten the M5 bolt through the small access hole (see photo)

  4. Horizontally rotate the mirror to your desired angle and then tighten the M10 bolt, taking care to not overtighten the bolt

  5. The mirror part can also be placed in 3 positions, (ships in the middle position). To change the position, remove the M5 bolt holding it in place to remove the mirror.

  6. The SM5 mirror is not right or left specific, so install it in the way that works best for you

Twin Cylinder Models

  1. Remove stock mirrors.

  2. Use the included M10 bolts to loosely fasten the SM6 mirrors to the stock locations. One side is normal-threaded and the other side is reverse threaded. Damage will occur if you use the reverse-theaded bolt in an normal-threaded hole or vice-versa.

  3. Rotate the SM6 mirrors horizontally to optimize your view and tighten the M10 bolt (Do not overtighten). How tight is too tight? Click this if you are unsure

  4. To adjust the SM6 vertical alignment, first loosen the small M5 bolt on the side of the mirror stalk. Tilt the bottom part of the mirror to optimize your view. Once set, re-tighten the M5 bolt, again, taking care to not overtighten the bolt. DO NOT TRY ADJUST THIS WITHOUT FIRST LOOSENING THE M5 BOLT.

698 Mono

  1. Remove stock mirrors.

  2. Use the included M10 bolts to loosely fasten the SM698 mirrors to the stock locations.

  3. Assembly order from top to bottom is M10 bolt - SM698 stalk - Metal Reservoir Bracket - Clutch/Brake clamp

  4. Left side is normal-threaded and the right side is reverse threaded. Damage will occur if you use the reverse-theaded bolt in a normal-threaded hole or vice-versa.

  5. Rotate the SM698 mirrors horizontally to optimize your view

  6. Gently press the mount forwards to make light contact between the rubber anti-vibration button and the brake/clutch clamp bolt and then tighten the M10 bolt (Do not overtighten - deformation of the plastic is WAY too tight and will void warranty). How tight is too tight? Click this if you are unsure..

  7. To adjust the SM698 vertical alignment, first loosen the small M5 bolt on the side of the mirror stalk. Tilt the bottom part of the mirror to optimize your view. Once set, re-tighten the M5 bolt, again, taking care to not overtighten the bolt. DO NOT TRY ADJUST THIS WITHOUT FIRST LOOSENING THE M5 BOLT.
